Latin Chorus
| VON KARMA: | [spoken] My dear boy, as a prosecutor, my job is to eliminate these enemies of society. The only way I can do that is to obtain a guilty verdict at every opportunity. I will not let one miserable miscreant go free. I will do whatever is necessary to have those perversions of humanity receive what is due them. [sung] I'm in charge of every trial I'm always in full control The judge merely has to smile To say "guilty" is his only role I sustain my own objections To win the courtroom war None shall interfere with my perfect guilty score | ||
| If justice is blind, then I will guide her To declare everyone guilty I simply cannot err To preserve my perfect record I will do what I must No place in court for truth, peace, order, or trust And perhaps some didn't do it Innocent they may have been But my cases are all perfect, And I'll do anything to win | CHORUS: | Justitia caeca, illa ducenda Peccare non potest Nunc damnamdum est Integra fama Mea conservanda Non pax, quies, veritas, fides Etsi damnabitur Reum insontem Curabo ut semper triumphem | |
| I've not lost a case in all my years I bring these pitiful lawyers to tears In prosecution I have no peers | |||
| VON KARMA/CHORUS: | Manfred von karma, perfection incarnate | ||
| VON KARMA: | Man is guilty and must pay for his sin Against me, there is no chance to win My perfect revenge has yet to begin | ||
| VON KARMA/CHORUS: | Don't cross von Karma, perfection incarnate | ||
| JUDGE: | [Spoken] Court is now in session for the trial of Miles Edgeworth. | ||
| PHOENIX: | The defense is ready, Your Honor. | ||
| VON KARMA: | ... | ||
| JUDGE: | Well, it appears that the prosecution is not... | ||
| VON KARMA: | Silence. I was merely taking a meaningful pause before speaking. | ||
| JUDGE: | I'm so sorry! Um... Do you have an opening statement? | ||
| VON KARMA: | Decisive evidence, a decisive witness...what else could possibly be required? [sung] I'm perfectly prepared To crush you in my hand None have I ever spared Try to save him if you can But you will surely lose There's nothing you can do Your client is now doomed He will not pull through | ||
| If justice is blind, then I will guide her To declare everyone guilty I simply cannot err To preserve my perfect record I will do what I must No place in court for truth, peace, order, or trust Your defendant will shortly be revealed In his deadly crime and sin For my case against him is perfect, It's decided, I shall win | CHORUS: | Justitia caeca, illa ducenda Peccare non potest Nunc damnamdum est Integra fama Mea conservanda Non pax, quies, veritas, fides Etsi damnabitur Milesem insontem Curabo ut semper triumphem | |
